How I terminate the wires depends on how I'm mounting the pickup. On the ones I mount like a strat I use the little gromets that you hammer into the bottom of the bobbin.
On the ones that mount with screw though the middle of the bobbin, like the ones in this picture, I take a hint from you and solder to #2 brass screws in the side.
