I wanted to be able to wind guitar pick ups. Winders are not cheap. About $450.00, I guess to sky is the limit. Karen Canada and Bill James Canada gave me a sewing machine. I stripped out the front end, didn't want a lot of extra stuff making Noise. I checked all over you tube and found where others had did this. To be frank, I didn't like the workmanship. So the trick is to be able to attach a wood mounting to the shaft. I cut out two walnut circles, put them on the lathe, tapered the first to fit the contour of the sawing machine, the other I sized to fit over it as a base plate. All screws absolutely, no glue or gummy junk. I'll finish it tomorrow, and work on redoing the Cabinet to be a left side work station. I'll add a magnetic switch to wire the calculator as a turn counter. I'll use a light dimmer switch to slow the speed way back for the foot pedal.
