They worked fairly well just have to bend them carefully. I cut the ends on an angle to form a point then pressed them into pilot holes. I guess super glue and clamped flat would solve any non-flatness issues.
I've just made my first fretted fret board by cutting grooves and tapping in wires but did have much luck with the finnish,so was thinking i might trying this but was not shaw what it would look like.Thanks for sharing your pics they look great,I'll give it a go on my next guitar.

Peter, I'm sure they would be a lot more durable. Are they difficult to get perfectly flat and straight?
