Can't wait to see the final product Charles, as far as an amp goes there are lots of forums and groups on here that will help with a radio/amp conversion. Cheap easy way to get an amp quick, good luck ol' Top.
I still have my great grand daddy's axe, the handle has been replaced 8 times and the head replaced 3 times. Saw this whole exercise as an experiment using only materials at hand rather than producing a fine instrument and am already looking at my design with changes in mind. Today I am gutting an old doorbell to see if the piezo can be made into a pickup. Problem is I don't have an amp to test it on. Next project?
