If they're covered in paper I'll spray on between 3 and 5 coats of clear gloss lacquer. Give it about a week after spraying to let it cure properly. Do not use enamel. It never hardens properly.
If the box is wood then I'll rub it down with axe wax and leave it at that.

I want to start off by saying you do some really good work! I've learned a lot just from reading your posts.
Quick question, sorry if you have already posted the answer before .... what are you finishing the boxes with? How many coats are you applying?
