This is a hybrid finishing technique I'm working on. Fingerboard is French polished for color and seal and then given two top coats of lacquer. Rest of the guitar is finished in a French polish. Reason for this combo was that the customer lives in Australia and an all over gloss finish apparently turns into a slippery mess down there. I did this to get that glass surface finish on the fingerboard while keeping the neck from turning into a piece of plastic.
