On the bench

Working on the Thin Box...finished carving the fret board, installed the ThinBucker and glued on a dyed green piece of Big Leaf Maple veneer. Big thx to Dan for doing those extra long leads off the pup. Thinking of dying the box green too..first experiment on the inside of the lid.

  • Bluesheart...I`ll probably end up playing it as a lap slider...Fomhorach...it`s a 24" scale length, what I did was use the frets just above the fret marker. The bone fret above the middle rose is the full octave.

  • Which fret numbers did you choose for this? Its hard to see if it's a standard dulcimer setup or something a little more off the wall.

  • Very cool. Looks like it will be hard to play?? I think there are Asian instruments with raised frets like that?? Sure is pretty!
