Thanks a lot fellas! The friend I met that gave me a lot of this horn material explained that the density of the horn has to do with the amount of nutrition the animal is getting. The better they eat, the more dense the horns are. Some are practically like bone and some are almost like a sponge with little tiny holes throughout.
Anyway, I plan to do some more knobs and other stuff with the horn in the future. Thanks again! - T
I really like these knobs, I have been experimenting with making the Nuts and Bridge pieces out of antler. So far, it has worked out very well, it is bone, after all. Bob
