My first attempt at a trapeze tailpiece made from a cheap stainless steel fork. It looks beat up because I spent lots of time with the bench vise and hammer, tryin' to get it right. The idea was to curl the tines, but they kept snapping off. Eventually, I beat 'em flat against the fork face, to close up the gaps between tines, then filed them down smooth. It looks suitably rustic.

Don't know yet. I have to postpone the builds until after my repat vacation to the States, which starts in 4 days. Woo Hoo! Means I get to pick up my C.B. Gitty parts stash. I'll bring all that back in mid-August, so it may be September before we find out. But based on the tailpieces on friends' guitars, whcih are made out of much lighter weight, thinner metal, there's no real reason it shouldn' t work (I know, famous last words...).
