On the neck's neck-thru area, I slotted the neck in two places to receive the top cookie lid (the lid with the bolts sticking thru), so I had to reinforce the bottom of the neck so as to compensate to maintain a strong neck structure. The combination of the neck and the added support will fill the space between the two cookie tin lids.
