No this is smoked (or roasted?) oak. It is very dark. I've just sanded it up. It is the same wood for the sides and the back and fretboard and the head veneers. Very nice but has very big porse so you have to sand it till death. On the back and sides you can still see porse although I sanded it three times up to 400 than porse filling with a glue and sand it back than applied shellak four times by brush and sanded it back each time with 400 and two more times shellack and sanded back to 600 and 800 then 3 times with pad.

Very nice. Did you use an ebony stain on the oak?
