The frets are 1 1/2 inch finish nails. I use them on all my instruments I have not tried fret wire yet.I used the 1910 ukulele plans that I found on this site and used there measurements for the pegs. Only to find out the I could not turn them, they hit each other. I moved them and cut the fancy holes you see on the neck now to cover them up. Have two more in the works already. Learning from my mistakes.
