    Josh, Yep. It was tricky for the first few coats. The "tax stamp" tag at the bottom would come off if rubbed too much with the alcohol/shellac mix. Had to dab-coat that until a few layers were solid.

    Normally I would not coat paper, only bare wood, but this is for my mom and I wanted a really glass look for her. Plus, I wanted to see how it held up -- kinda experimentation.

    The neck is spray lacquer which I will french polish.
