  • sounds good
  • Those clasps came from the hardware store, for only a few bucks; the box itself has some magnets inside to keep it closed, but it doesn't really work that well, so I decided to strap it closed. The neck came off a bass guitar I got for christmas when I was 9. I'm considering removing the tuning heads, as one or two have VERY loose action when you turn them. (Also, it uses a *plastic* nut -- that's gotta go!)
  • I saw. Wow that is a thick top eh! Did the box come with those clasps? Did you build or reshape that neck?
  • It's a Quesada Tributo, a very nice box. Originally it was going to be acoustic, but the thick top would've prevented a decent sound. The box originally had an ornate, foil-ish strip along the top, but once i began to cut out the neck pocket, the entire strip had to go. After an unplanned accident, i ended up sanding most of the top and repainting it. (You can see some of the accident photos in my photo album for this build)
  • Hey no harm there, that white against the gold of your hardware is very cool. What box is that?
  • Thanks, Colin! This photo was taken after about 4 coats of satin clear-coating; none of the hardware has been screwed down yet. I have about 2 or 3 more coats I want to put on, then let it sit for 2 weeks before I do any permanent work. (The satin finish hides a lot of the screw-ups, gouges and paint-runs I left in the job.)
  • ohh, that is slick! Is that the final finish? Looks like a Cadi pearl
