Jerry, The bodies are basically stacked plywood frames. The bottom layer of the frame is cut from 3/4". The top layer of the frame is cut from 1/2" and glued to the 3/4". Once the frame has dried and the edges are nice and clean I will cut a top and a back from 1/4" plywood to match the body. I use a flush trim router bit to match the pieces to one another. I have made MDF router patterns for different body styles and use them to create the 3/4" piece for the frame. After that I use the frame pieces as patterns to make the other pieces fit as best they can.
