  • Thanks for the kind words Dave! It means a lot coming from a Craftsman/Artist such as yourself.

  • Chuck, I love your work. I've done some woodburning also and like it a lot. I've not tried it on guitar building yet, but you are an inspiration. Thanks for sharing. I've got a small and a large reso cone to try and build one soon...

  • Thanks Dave,

I have been a wood carver for somewhere around 17 years or so. I got interested in woodburning to add detail to some of my carvings (birds feathers, animal fur, etc.) it is a great way to add detail, especially on thin wood objects.

Ever since I built my first reso I'm hooked on them. The tone and the volume are so much better and louder than without the cone.

  • Very beautiful. I love the woodburning art and the reso.

  • I would like to try the 9" cone but I need to find a source for some nice boxes large enough to fit one into.
  • Great!

Good to hear I also have some larger cones that are 9 inches across if you start building 6 stringers they pack a lot bigger punch they just like the 6 inch ones just bigger.

  • P.S. Lowe,
I'll try to get a video posted in a couple of weeks from now so you can hear it. I'll be out of town for a couple of weeks on my job.
  • Wow! I was so surprised to hear the great tone and the volume is fantastic! Definatley the loudest CB instrument I own. I used one of your brass 7" cones on a 6 string CB Uke and it also has a unique sound ( has a very strong banjo sound ) that I love. I have another CB Uke to build for one of my Sons and a 6 string CB Guitar for my other Son before Christmas. I am going to use the other cones I bought from you on those also, can't wait to hear the 6 string CB Guitar. Haven't built one of those yet.
  • Cool! how did it sound? I think you may have broke the record of strings on a Lowecone just now!
