Looks great! I'm having the same problem here in Finland. Have you tried using black patina on the brass parts? Would add a nice touch. Anyways, good job.
Thanks Diglydog, yes it turned out a lot better than I expected, and solves the problem of not being able to get cigar boxes here in the UK.
Really great job, John. The coffee staining gives an excellent colour to it and the wax is a lovely finish.
