If you think about it purely from a practical side, this double 3 string guitar single neck design is both a left handed and right handed guitar. The single neck set up is an obvious choice. You just flip it over and instantly a left handed player has access to the other 3 strings.

True, you would only have to change the nut to make it left-handed.

This is actually a normal 6-string, standard tuning.
That's pretty cool, a double 3 string guitar...but only one neck! How do you play it?
