Lowe Cone Brass Resonators

Sharing these side-by-side now that both are finished. One pretty and one pretty ugly. Both with brass resonator cones from Old Lowe and the one on the left has a Mojobone Works biscuit bridge. The one one the right has my own biscuit bridge made from an old piece of standing-dead cherry stump and a bone blank (not nearly as nicely done as Randy's).I boiled the bone for the nut and saddle in old coffee grounds for a few minutes to age them and it worked great. Both have my design zero bone. I love this feature as it adds great tone and much easier to make compared to a traditional style bone nut.Both have maple necks which are a pair of 1x2 sticks glued together on the faces with separate maple fret boards. The stained one is bird's eye maple.Using resonator cones is obviously more technically demanding than a floating bridge, but I love the sound and increased volume.

    Thanks Bluesheart adn Uncle John.  I really enjoy playing both, but I have to admit a strong aesthetic preference for the pretty ugly one.  I'll try to shoot a construction details video for that one.  There are some good tricks I discovered along the way.

    Thanks Randy!  I think I'm going to give my brain a rest having done 3 resos in a row.  I need to do a couple floating bridges before I tackle another cone build, but I'm itching to come up with my own tricone scheme.  The wheels never stop turning.
