The mesh was from a frying pan splash-guard which I bought at a charity shop.I formed it by cutting out a circle and pushing a former inside the housing through the disk of mesh using a vise the. Taking it out and turning it convex side out.

Nice mIcrophone! I build mine out of Campbell soup cans with a piezo disk. I use burlap for the screen. They look very redneck. People like them. I always sell a few a fairs/ festivals.
