Ah the diatonic scale (plus the tenth fret) near impossible to go wrong. Tuned DAd. I managed to hand saw a fret board from some poplar. not easy but highly rewarding. I planned to use it to add strength to the scarf joint and cover the front of the joint where the two woods met. I t wasn't messy But It just didn't look right.The addition of the fret board turned out to make the string action really low; 'A triumph' as it was described to me. I agreed with that.
