This is a prototype version of an electric (Les Paul styled) 3 string (CBG set-up) for my Year 7/8 students.This is a differentiation instrument for students struggling with 6 string complexities; they can still participate with others playing an easier (more fun=engagement) guitar.

The body is only pine, which is what I had at hand. I used a technique called Shogun ban which is hardening the timber (whilst bringing out a dark grain effect) by lightly burning the wood. I also used around 10 coats of poly to give it a shell; it will still get dents unfortunately.
