I just brewed a cup of super strong coffee, and over the course of several days wiped it on the box, let dry, repeat. the wood on the bottom of this box was resistant to staining until I sanded it down, but even then, it took a long time and nearly the entire cup of joe! the design I drew on and then used a wood burner, but the coffee gave it really nice color.
