No truss rod installed in this one Colin. You shouldn't need one if you are using a shorter scale and put the red oak in the neck. I have installed two non-adjustable truss rods in the two octave mandolins I have made and felt very comfortable about the outcome.
I am thinking on switching from golden oak to poplar with red o in the middle like this. Do you have a truss rod? I am debating on whether to use one or not. Mine is going to be a tenor with a shorter scale length.
