    Have you ever had you magnetic pickups hit the neck inside the box. Well I have and that is why it has to go.

    All you have to understand is that the strings and neck are under a lot of tension. If it is done right you can do away with the through neck on most boxes.

    Thanks Vinnie, The main difference in mine is that it is not a through the box neck. This means there is less wood in the box allowing it to resonate better.
