Lacewood Neck

I wanted the neck to have gold frets to match everything else, which pretty much means I had to make the neck myself. I decided to use Australian Lacewood and Rosewood for the fretboard. I thought the coloring and grain patters of the wood would match the box well. I was right.

    The grain on the back of the headstock there is just unreal!

    Thanks. Luthier's Mercantile sells what the call Evo gold fret wire. It's the only place I've been able to find gold fret wire. I'm not 100% sure of it's composition. It's harder than nickel/silver blends, not as hard as stainless. Great stuff to work with all around.

    Holy cow. That grain is beautiful. What did you use as fretwire. Do they make brass fret wire?
