Lacewood Neck

I wanted the neck to have gold frets to match everything else, which pretty much means I had to make the neck myself. I decided to use Australian Lacewood and Rosewood for the fretboard. I thought the coloring and grain patters of the wood would match the box well. I was right.

  • Thanks. Luthier's Mercantile sells what the call Evo gold fret wire. It's the only place I've been able to find gold fret wire. I'm not 100% sure of it's composition. It's harder than nickel/silver blends, not as hard as stainless. Great stuff to work with all around.
  • Holy cow. That grain is beautiful. What did you use as fretwire. Do they make brass fret wire?
