You build really nice body forms (jigs) and, of course, really nice instruments.
Right now, my forms (jigs) are simplistic at best. Right now I have my first tear-drop body drying on "the rack" and now I'm thinking of how to design a neck that will join this frame. But, after seeing how you (apparently) do it, I'm wondering if I'm just creating a giant spring that will be fighting me all the way. Instead of building the tear-drop shaped body from 2 side pieces (and both a head- and tail-block) like yours, I'm building it from a single length of wood that I soaked and am shaping around a jig that uses an old 8" drum frame (hoop) to form the shape. Well, I guess I'll just have to see if my way works. I'll be documenting the build in my discussion group Home Made Resonator Boxes 101, v.2.0 on CBN. I'll most likely begin that discussion after lunch, beginning with photos of my jig. Hope you will join the discussion to share your ideas. I'm thinking maybe of doing a build closer to the way you did yours next time around.
