  • I had the same problem with the rigidity of my last tin when I cut the slots for the neck. This time I made the decision to cut holes and slide the neck through. I keep having to slide it in and out, and have already had to un-glue the end piece because I needed the neck out. I'm going to drill a series of small holes into the lid to allow the sound out, every chance it all goes tits up at that stage.
  • It's been a right struggle. The tin is so thin and became unstable once I cut the slots. I've had bits of wood glued which fell off, didn't plan ahead on how I was going to fit/access the pickup etc. I see your tin is the other way round to mine. I'll add some more photos if that's any help. The basic sequence of putting mine together will be, screw the lid to 5mil ply, fit the pickup to the lid, screw the lid/ply to the through body neck and screw the base of the tin to the back of the through neck :-)
  • Interesting, I'm in the process of making a 3 stringer using the same tin. Yours is looking great.
