The one closer to the edge corresponds to the bass single string, the other the 3 guitar strings.Obviously, this guitar/bass instrument is heavily influenced by the one and only John Lowe's Purgatory Hill Harp... in theory, if not design. I have great respect for John, and I own one of his Lowebows (which kicks ass, I might add). Luckily, this instrument does not sound AT ALL like a Hill Harp, so I foresee gigs in the future will utilize both instruments heavily!
