Inlays

Finally found a sharp enough saw to slice the business end off of a .30-.30 casing. Lucky enough to find a drill bit just the right size and made free inlay's. Going with the "Brass" theme on this one.

  • Thanks Nathan.  I also did the same thing on the bridge.  One on each side of a piece of brass threaded rod.  I am just now getting the electronics glued in the box.  My volume control isn't long enough to fit through the box so I have to glue it.  What a mess.  I used epoxy and for some reason it will not harden.  It is the self-mixing kind and it worked on the sound hole gromets but not so well on the volume control.  May have to resort to Gorilla Glue.  That stuff works but it expands and oozes out all over the place if you are not careful.  This is so fun.  Wish I'd have known about it years ago.  I have played six string for over thirty five years and just purchased my dream guitar, a beautiful Taylor.  I have not played it since I started this build.  Thanks for the comment.
