Hey Jay, the wood is Bloodwood. I was looking for a better way to ground the strings. So I got a 2" wide by 1/8" stick of brass and routed it in the bridge with a ground wire in it. Drilled a hole in the box top and ran it into my ground. Its better than the old way I was doing it. It sounds great too! I'm going to make some videos on how to do and demos on some of my new builds. I just haven't had time lately. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Take care!
