  • Ahoy Patrick! I have only had it for about a week and have only used it a handfull of times. An audio friend of mine recommended it and let me borrow his for a while to help me decide, getting to use the gear is always a good (if hard to find) selling point.
After glancing at H4 online, I would say the two really don't compare. H4 is heavily loaded w/ features (good ones, it would seem), on-board FX, mic inputs, etc, the H2 does not have that. H2 does have two different mic configs built-in, so you can get a different stereo image and/or record in 'surround', that is, actually record what is going on behind the recorder as well as in front (I have not got to use that yet).
So really, the H2 just doesn't do as much as the H4, H4 seems to be a portable multitrack studio, more features, more stuff, comparatively H2 is just a recorder with some options for the stereo image, which is just what I wanted, which is probably why it is cheaper too.
So far, I like it, but if have yet to really exploit it or find it's weaknesses.
    I hope this helps.
    Cheers!
