Well, that pickup is a dandy match for the box. I have a nice vintage box that I may start on today and as usual, the big question is what pickup and where. Lately, I have gone on the neck above the box. Not sure what I want to do today. A to-do list first and then the shop beckons.
Actually John, you've given me an idea. If I can cut out the pickup surround neatly enough, I can use the cut-out for a pickup cover. Mainly for builds like this where I'm struggling to put a pickup in a place that doesn't clutter up the markings.
It's quilted maple would you believe. A guy close to me put a suitcase full of different veneers on freecycle! I've got sheets of walnut, sapele, rosewood,maple and allsorts. Find of the year!
