Oh now I know what you are asking. I had to drill extra holes in the shaft. Cause the original ones were in the wrong place. And while I was at it I narrowed some of the shafts by grinding .
Boy you are sure observant. You are correct in asking that ? I had to drill the holes for those 2 shafts one size bit larger so there was room for the string to wind around. I actually made a mistake when I drilled the top holes. I made those 2 too far back. I wanted them to be as far as I could so the strings were not straight down but at an angle, but I went just a bit too far. They should be closer to the middle so theer is room for the larger string. Also I did not drill all the way thru but masked off the bit so I would stop just short of going all the way thru. Also going from the top I did the same, so it makes for a neater looking and stronger headstock. But it does make for more awkward stringing up. Cheers for now D

One more question Dan, if you don't mind: With the holes offset in the headstock, how do you string the lower two through the tuner shaft hole?
