So when we find cigar boxes they often come with thin pieces of wood that are supposed to fill empty space, cover, or assist in the display of the contents. One I recently encountered was just under 1/8 inch thick and I thought "why let this go to waste?" So I built a box and made the thin fill piece the top surface of a new instrument. 23 inch GDg, generally poplar body and neck, oak fretboard. I stained the body and non-fretboard neck with a minwax "gunstock" finish, then several passes of spray shellac. Miscellaneous "Gitty" bitties for fixings.

Yup! Fine looking build. I use my spare cigar box inserts for making scatter-wound pickups.
A fine looking build Warren! I like the simple, but sleek headstock design and how you tied its color to the box.
