Didn't know that...did it today with a hand driver..(don't have access to a drill press) got lucky on that point...I'm thinking the tricky part is having the bridge 1/4 to 1/3 out from the back and putting the holes in a place that meets the happy medium of just the right pressure for maximum lid vibration without too much pressure for a un-braced box top.
Just be sure to use a drill press and take your time drillin the holes or they can skate off and come out looking uneven on the back side. i like the clean look of no tailpiece sometimes.
