  • ok im sending it with my dad to work to get it soldered thanx for the help im really gonna have to get a soldering iron lol

  • OK, then connect the two wires that come from the white stuff together so you end up with only two wires coming from the disc. Connect them up to your jack. Piezos don't really have polarity to speak of, so it won't matter which wire goes to which tab on the jack.

  • the other side of the disc has 3 wires 2 coming from the white in the middle and 1 on the edge of the disc

  • So much easier with a rod...lol

  • Here's the Radio Shack piezo I use when I need one fast and have to buy locally. It's Radio Shack part number 273-073. Carefully take the disk out of the plastic housing and use lots of hot glue to basically embed that puppy to the underside of the lid of the box, on the bass end of the bridge. Lay down a good 1/8" thick bed of hot glue, stick the disk to that hot glue, then pile more hot glue on top of the disk - about another 1/8" thick.

Here's a wiring diagram to help you solder the piezo leads to the jack:

As for the piezo disk you have there in your hand, what Squirrels said is the way to go.

Good luck, and welcome to the addiction! I mean obsession! I mean Nation!

  • What does the other side of the disc look like? Does it have 2 or 3 wires?

  • do you mean the middle as in the 2 copper wires in the white being hot and the one on the outer ring ground?

  • Yea, you only need two wires coming from the disc. They should look sort of like this:

  • I just used one myself. Disconnect the disc from the board and solder the two middle leads to a longer wire and the outside one to another. The inner is hot and the outer the ground.
