  • 306635652?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024I told the story about this one a dozen times that day.  Its a 70's era Kingston Baritone Uke (MIJ) that was left for dead.  Picked it up at our local Flea Market for its original chipboard case (mostly).  It was missing tuners, bridge was lifting and the back ply was checked and separating from water.  I sanded the body down, sealed and reglued the layers. After painting the blue, I sanded in the 'normal' wear patterns and used a dark expresso stain to highlight its imperfections and age.  I beefed up the tail block with a piece of hardwood to anchor the hasp tail piece.  I only put on three strings because I was concerned the neck joint wouldn't hold the tension for 4.  Tuned to high GDG - it sounds awesome. 

  • I built one like this baritone uke reso. Cute baby delta blues box. Just right for a Gitty Lightening reso cone.
