  No it is laminated on and under the lacquer. I thought about painting it on but changed my mind.

  This is even better with a story and meaning behind it. I once built a treasure box for my kids and named it Diablo and gave them a story of a Spanish ship filled with gold that sank off our coast. One day I research the name and coincidentally the story was a true one and that ship has never been found to date, the book is rare and vaulted in the San Diego library system. Well that only added more fun to their treasure box!

  The funny thing is I named this one Huginn before I knew the story of Muninn. Everything about the cbg lined up perfect. Its like it was meant to be.

  For Huginn I fear lest he come not home

  but for Muninn my fear is more.

  Yeah sometimes I theme a cbg and I always name them. This one is Huginn. Huginn is one of Odins ravens the other is Muninn. I have to find another black box to build Muninn and there is also a story about him being lost. So for now he is lost. Odin sends the Ravens out everyday and the report back to him the events around the world. Notice also that the cbg is black, Ravens are black.
