  the alder I use on necks is 45 mm wide.Its light and holds three strings easy even theres no rod on neck.

  I normally build my necks 1.50" and I thought this look a little wider because of the spacing of the strings. I like the wider neck with a coil pickup though as it looks better proportioned. The flat black bolt does look really nice with the box!

  I have one of these boxes, but I wasn't brave enough to use it as thought I might rip my hand to shreds on the rough finish. You're one tough cookie!

  Eye bolt is sprayed flatt black then sanded paint out under strings.I think it looks good on black boxes.

  Its 45mm about 1,77 ".I think a lot about pick up.First think to use piezo rod but that is perfect place for single coil.
