  • Yes, its a brass switch plate sound hole. The Thunderbird is an army unit crest (Sorry I don't remember the unit) that covers up bad carving on the through neck. I thought a rectangular sound hole would be a neat idea on the box. The bridge is cut from a brass picture frame as on the uke I made a couple of weeks ago-See my photos. the T-bird crest sits back about 1/4 inch from the sound hole.
