Here's a homemade tool that turned out to be pretty handy. It's a piece of plexiglas drilled to hold potentiometers for soldering. I had been doing it on cardboard and decided to make a more permanent version from scrap plexiglas. This lets me wire the volume and tone controls where I can access all the lugs easily. I can then transfer the assembly into the guitar when it's done. Sure beats trying to solder the parts down in a cigar box or control cavity in a traditional instrument.
