HABANA1

The latest build just finished!Oak neck with maple fret board, Oak wings on head stock.Through neck design, I do like the traditional look of through necks.First attempt at a CBG tune-o-matic bridge kinda worked, you can just turn the screws to change the action form slide to finger picking. The over sized F-holes give it a really warm sound with plenty of volume.Right then...on to the next build!!Check out www.junksville.co.uk I've just built a web site to put other builds on etc, been meaning to build one for some time now, I would appreciate any feedback on the website as I've never built one before, so not really sure what I'm doing!!

  • Thanks Kevin, The lumbercaster is one of my favorites as well, took ages to get it right but pleased with how it turned out in the end.

The brigde has crosshead bolts in that I found on a motor housing, but you should be able to find some easy.

I cut through the crosshead so the string lays flat and you can adjust the high of the string each quarter turn.

Each bolt has to have a smaller cut though to hold the different thickness of the strings. The wood can be threaded by just drilling a small hole and using the bolt to cut the thread into the wood.

Thanks for feedback Kevin, appriciate it

  • Just been on your website (love that Lumbercastor!) and your guitars look beautifully made. Can I ask how your bridge works? Are they just screws in the bridge wood, and the strings run across the top? Or are they bolts into threaded inserts? Where did you find them?
