This is the back of the neck at the bottom where the strings will be attached. There are copper rivets on the other side and hole was drilled at an angle with a wire running through to the inside of the box. These wires will not show outside the box.

To be honest, this was put up here almost two years ago and only my third instrument and these days I don't bother earthing the strings. In fact there can be problems if you do, such as hearing clicks through the amp if you use either metal finger picks or a metal slide (even a brass one). There may be some circumstances in which it solves some other problem but I have not come across a reason to do it.
