Make a back out of black Perspex - if it needs power you could mount an off-the-shelf EQ unit in the back, leaving the body original. Are the switches still on the front ?
That's interesting - good luck restoring that. If the pups don't work it should be easy enough to buy a strat copy set and stick them in without damaging the guitar body. I'd be wary of making any permanent modifications as it looks like quite a rare thing.

Yes it is one of 1000 build but no board or back or power supply, so may need a bug mod to be useable
