I know the tuners are backwards. As another poster recently said, "I did it that way for better tone". Bullsh*t - I didn't know what I was doing back then. The eye is abalone.

UJ, thanks for the comments. Yes, it was one of my early "theme" gits. Because of the original toothpick frets and the poor bridge location, I never played it much - used as a wall hanger. Now that I've rebuilt it, it sounds much better, so I hope I'll pick it up more and can tell you then about the tuners. So far no issues. I would have turned them around the "right" way, but didn't have room on the back of the headstock.
Hal, this must be one of your early gits. No signature pepper head stock. But I like the gator head stock and the whole thing. How's it sound? Got some bite to it?
I am curious... how have the tuners held up and worked mounted like that?

PS: I mounted some tuners the wrong way in my early builds too. Gave those away. Hope they still function.
