Preamp with wood surround (Preamp built for curved guitar so stands proud without the surround and looks untidy).Preamp was around £10 off ebay and has a built in tuning function - and "5band Eq" which is bass, mid1, mid2, treble and presence (signal boost). It works well and is a bargain. I did note some are selling preamps that don't have a tuning function but claim they have - make sure the photo clearly shows a button labelled digituner "power" and a button with "note" which are the two grey buttons at the bottom of the preamp in the photo.

Funny we had the same problem with the pre-amp when it turned up in the mail had one of those 'doh' moments. I like your solution it's very neat - mine was to paint the outside of the box black to stealth it. Looks great and worth the time spent on it I'm sure. Can't wait to hear it. I bought some of those latches the other day for my next box - nice n sturdy. Can't wait for the vid. : D
