  • David the best playing help I got was knotlenny's CBG 101.  Google it or find it under resources at the top of this page.  Sure, if you have a template that shows fret position, that would be good.  I looked up a 25 inch scale on Stew Mac's Fret calculator.  (Free on line).   3rd fret 3.3978 inches from the nut,  5th fret, 6.271 inches from the nut, 7th fret 8.315 inches from the nut and the 12th fret dead center between saddle and nut at 12.5 inches.

  • Uncle John its a 25 inch scale so would I lay it out to mark frets with the template? I can't play for crap ...ha

  • PS: I really like the side markers to be right on the sweet spot - not between frets but right where I need to place the slide.  3rd, 5th, 7th and 12th.  Some folks like the tenth fret marked too.

  • Heavy strung open D.  Should sound great.  I like open D, But usually sing best in G.... Darn it.

    • Thanks ,I haven't  put the markers on the side  yet. I like the unplugged sound, used 56,45,and 36 gauge strings
  • I've seen that box and thought it was okay, but not really inspiring.  What you did with it is inspiring.  A super nice build and combination of color tones.  I like the unusual sound hole setup..  How does it sound unplugged?

A really nice looking neck and great head stock.  I hope it has some side markers for the 3rd, 5th, 7th and 12th.
