The first time I ever saw a cigar box guitar, it was built on a black Punch, so that's been my Holy Grail box. Got some at the Frankenmuth Cigar Co., and the owner was interested in having a guitar, so I built him one.

That's maple. It just has a big, neat-looking knot.
The owner of the shop was really happy to get it. He said there've been several people that have come in to get boxes, but have never come back with a guitar for him, so he was tickled pink when I walked in. Now I have a place to sell, when I feel like it. And a good source for boxes.

It would be even better if I had a sticker of a cigar that I could put where the neck meets the box.
