Here's my first kalimba build. I had a small Arturo Fuente box that was warped pretty badly so I decided to make a kalimba out of it. It was a fun project and playing it forces the use of an entirely different part of my old brain. The lower notes are in the middle and the notes get higher, alternating from right to left, out toward the ends. Playing it is a great mental workout that can only shake up my regular practice methods on CBGs lap steels and regular guitars. It will be interesting to see if it triggers any "new stuff" like a new instrument or new tuning often does.
